The VCA Car Adapter allows you to recharge the retired Vagabond™ II B20A battery or retired Vagabond™ I B15A battery from your car's battery (working with the built-in Vagabond™ II battery charger and the VBC charger from the Vagabond™ I system). The VCA is a DC/AC adapter that plugs into your car's power outlet / cigarette lighter outlet. You can plug your Vagabond™ battery charger into the three-prong outlet on the VCA, and allow your Vagabond™ battery to charge from your car's battery.

Using the Vagabond™ battery charger with the VCA Car Adapter will recharge your Vagabond™ battery normally, as described in the manual for your specific system. Some vehicles may require the ignition switch to be turned to the "accessory" position to apply power to the cigarette lighter outlet or accessory outlet(s).

The VCA is NOT compatible with the Vagabond Mini™ Lithium battery charger or the VLX™ battery charger.

NOTE: The VCA adapter can NOT be used directly with any Paul C. Buff, Inc.™ flash units. It is only intended for use with the Vagabond™ system battery chargers.

The VCA is compatible with the battery chargers from the retired Vagabond™ I and Vagabond™ II portable power systems.

The retired Vagabond™ II portable power system arrived with a built-in global battery charger and charging cable. This battery charging cable is plugged into the VCA to charge the Vagabond™ II internal battery from a car battery.

With the retired Vagabond™ I portable power systems (both the V150 and V300 models), the supplied VBC battery charger may be plugged into the VCA to charge the internal battery from the car battery. Note that the VCA Vagabond™ Battery Charger Car Adapter is different from the cigarette lighter adapter that was originally supplied with the Vagabond™ V150 and V300 systems. The cigarette lighter adapter that came with those systems allows you to use your car's battery to power your flash unit(s) through the Vagabond™ CU150 Power Converting Unit. The cigarette lighter adapter connects directly from the CU150 to your car's cigarette lighter outlet, converting the battery power from your car into usable power for your flash unit(s). The VCA Vagabond™ Battery Charger Car Adapter, however, allows you to use your car's battery to recharge your B15A Vagabond™ Battery, through the VBC Vagabond™ Battery Charger.

The VCA is NOT compatible with the Vagabond Mini™ Lithium battery charger or the VLX™ battery charger.
